Aye, it'll come off with a wee bit if discipline.

Probably a reflection of carrying so/too little to beging with. Body is probably thinking "let's get while the getting's good".

Was amazed at just how quickly ½ went on. For very little effort!

Sounds like water retention from all the sodium Paul.

I just put on another half kilo. Am sure it's water retention too. Looks like it's going to be one of those weeks.

It's not fat, Paul, not unless you ate an extra 20,000 calories or more anyway.
You've topped your muscle and liver glycogen up - storing water at the same time and some extra water here and there.

Go for a long run :)

Anyone who runs/trains a lot and restricts calories in runs a slightly reduced glycogen store. That's why the pre-marathon regime of a couple of days under fuelling/low carb followed by two or three days carb-loading is/was done. Restricted glycogen stores fill easily and it was/is thought "overfill" when they get a surplus.

Interestingly, exactly the same thing happened to me Fri-Sun two weeks ago:

oops. screwed that up. Pity there's no edit function here. Here's it again:

I'm not exactly sure what it was. I ate more due to going on a long ride. Perhaps it was the energy bars I ate. High sodium?

Ok, looked at the info on MFP. For the Fri-Sat I consumed 2300mg total of sodium Feb 12/13 (normal weight loss), 6000mg Feb 19/20 (1+kg weight gain), 4070mg Feb 26/27 (normal weight loss), 6300mg Mar 5/6 (1kg weight gain).

Recommended sodium levels per day according to MFP are 2300mg.

Very interesting.

I've an 18 miler in a couple of hours, hopefully better prepped than usual!

That's interesting azx :)

- I don't know how accurate my sodium tracking is - a lot of entries on there don't include it and I CBA to add as I don't eat much processed food.

I use Lo-salt in cooking and at the table at home as KCl doesn't have the blood pressure implications that NaCl does and my husband has bp issues.

I do know that a Chinese takeaway (salt and MSG) has the ability to put several lbs on me overnight though.
