^ that ^

I'm no longer on my feet all day at work and no longer have my dog to walk ( :( ) and find that if I cut calories just a little too much I run out of energy to do much more than my run and the essential chores. When I get it right, then more gardening gets done, the car gets washed and I might even dust something. When I get it wrong, I get stuck to the sofa.

Did a 1000 cal bike ride today. Well 999 to be precise :)
Will eat about 2000 cals today which still gives me a TDEE deficit of about 800

I must have a weird metabolism as the relationship between calorie intake and ability to do stuff is irrelevant. If anything it is sitting on the sofa during the evening that turns me to eating.

- there's nothing to eat within range of the sofa, so I can't

BTW, have people read the Hacker's Diet by John Walker, founder of Autodesk? I found it quite an interesting read by a tecchie guy rather than a dietician. It's a free download, or you can read it online: fourmilab.ch

Scale up 0.5kg today. However, being a body fat scale it's countered by the body fat% going down correspondingly from 23.1% to 22.5%. Since I've been using body fat scales forever, I've found my lean body mass to be 57kg and use that to compute an average of my "real" weight from bf% and weight. That comes out showing I weigh exactly the same as I did yesterday. I do know I had a roughly 800 cal deficit though from using MFP and Garmin, so am still ok with that.

Hope everyone is making progress.

*You've earned 2,021 extra calories from exercise today.

That leaves a bit of wriggle room today ;-)

Only 400 calories earned today so a tight day as I have 1100 as a base.
