I did 40 ish lengths mixture of BS/FC arms only, legs only and full stroke. Not sure if I'm getting better or just pacing it better as FC doesn't kill me as much as it did.

Well thanks for your feedback guys. I was hoping to at least get some constructive comments to my posting on page 11. I want an event that not only will people participate in but also one that they have helped develop. This is a case of an event organiser listening and acting on the needs and wishes of people interested in the sport. Please do help me.

TM - it's not for me, I struggle to get all tri training fitted in as it is, I don't belong to a swim club and i don't *love* swimming enough to want to do this. I'm sure there are others who would be more interested though as it sounds like a good challenge

Tri Mikey, I'm sorry I'm not in that part of the world so couldn't take part. For what it's worth it sounds like a good event and obviously in a great cause. Best of luck with it. Btw, like the "how was your run" thread, this one tends not to turn into chat or to have much feed back. More of a "one way" thread for people just posting the good or the bad swim they have had. IMHO!

Mikey - you've already got feedback from me on RW P.S. I used to do some work for MC in the Belgrave Square HQ! But not recently - back in the early 90s...
Anyone want an endless pool - I keep getting special offer letters through the post... latest is that you can have the demo one from TCR show next Feb - complete with lots of accessories - for 12,000... anyone interested?

My thoughts, after feed back are the following although by no means set in concrete. Still at consultation stage.
An event in a 25 metre pool in or local to Coventry. The event will be held in Feb 2009 during a weekend.
Swimming a distance of 10k teams may vary in size from a single individual to a max of 10 people
Teams will decide their own race tactics from changing every length to swimming the whole distance, there will however be a cut off time at 5 and 8k
Each team must raise a minimum of £1000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care and pay £100 registration fee.
Lifeguards and length counters will be provided.
The fastest team and team raising the most funds will be awarded nominal prizes.
So you thoughts please, would you like to be part of a team, participate as an individual, what changes would you like to see etc

I did a charity swim event about 5 years ago where you had a certain number of weeks to swim the distance it takes to cross the channel (and get sponsored for it): you record the number of lengths swum in each session and ask the life guard to sign it off. It was organised by Aspire, I think - don't know if they still do it.
