I planned to run a long 20mi-ish fartlek which should be fast enough to improve those times slightly. But I realized that there are many better options to bet for, so eventually I did not even bother to beg for bets. Even though I managed to improve my times, this outcome was not guaranteed because I am rather new to marathon training, I sincerely hate these super long runs, and running across Rome can have its unique challenges. But if all goes to the plan, I shall turn gold in 2 weeks for the dreaded marathon simulator workout. In theory, I might shave then another 3-4 mins of 10mi and 5 mins of half. Good outcomes not guaranteed though.

I had a great training run and improved my benchmarks by several minutes each (10 mi by about 4 min, half by about 7 minutes). The bets were crazy, I put them into an excel table and the development from my first go at it a month ago is extremely exponential: Training run 4 weeks ago (10 mi benchmark) about 13k bets. Payout was 18k 10k race at the end of last month: 77k, payout 154k Training run today: 3.18M bet, 4.77M payout so far, but not everyone has picked up their winnings yet.
