Like being back in the days of a fenix 3, just following a cookie crumb trail :D

Yeah, that's fine except when you end up on the wrong side of a canal :)

I remember the 310XT had a "get back to start" option that I successfully followed after going a bit astray on a trail run.

Today I ran 14.67 miles at 7:13 pace, total time 1:45:54, AHR 153, MHR 170 today (using Polar Verity). Progressive style. Yesterday ran a progressive 6.95, 6:47 pace, total time 47:09, AHR 156, MHR 179 (using chest strap). My Garmin still thinks my threshold is HR 169, pace 7:06 from 28 Nov. I know it's likely because I don't use a chest strap enough but I think I've used one enough over the last couple of months for it to correct itself (it was wrong when it first detected it). Hopefully it eventually does correct itself. I had turned max detection off (but not LT detection). Just in case that's having an effect, I've now turned that back on.

Yeah. My SO is just trying to decide between a Fenix 7, Venu 2+ and 955 for running, biking and hiking. I don't think we would wait on the off-chance that that becomes available in a hardware upgrade. What's the point anyway?

Yes, it's much of a gimmick for most people. Use it once, nope no afib, ok..

Since its a software too, it might come to other watches, if you use a garmin HRM strap?

Interesting thought. She does use the HRM-Pro, and she went for the 955. It's in the post :)

Bowman, DCR says it need hardware as well as the software hence it only works on the Venu 2+. Maybe new models coming out will put it on though.

Yes to be working on existing watches only. chunky
But, if you add a hr strap, you have two โ€œconnectorsโ€
The watch, and the strap.
Itโ€™s just at theory, but might be a working solution.
