The other thing you might want to do is to add the trails via the OSM website if they're missing from their records. That's the beauty of the crowd sourced stuff!

I find most trails are on the OSM. Switching the planner to between Popularity Routing and Follow Roads sometimes helps when it won't plot where I want it to.

There's one spot round near me where it won't plot a route for love nor money unless I go "freehand", despite there being paths marked on the route and garmin popularity overlay seems to show plenty of people have been down there.

larkim - is there a bridge or other interruption to the path that is not marked properly? The joy of OSM is that you can go & edit it and add the connection. I did one for a local path under a railway line that wasn't correctly showing. It took 4-6 weeks to feed all the way through to the server that Fetch uses, but OSM directly was a lot quicker. |

That would be why it says peaking, lol. BG is tapering for a race. Genuine question though. What is the reason it says I am "peaking"? I took an unplanned rest day yesterday (I wimped out due to wind/rain!), meaning last week was a bit reduced mileage compared to what I had planned. Plus I only did 7 today. If I had run as usual yesterday (say 10 miles) and took a rest day today as originally planned, would it still have said "Peaking"? I.E., is it genuinely monitoring me and saying "Yep, he is peaking", or is it basically based on mileage, where last week's ended up being lower than of late (last week I did 50, whereas the previous weeks were 64/60/57? I do have a race I would like to do well in this coming weekend, but it is not the main focus of my training really, so this week will still be relatively high mileage for me (54, including the race), the week after a bit lower probably (30ish I would imagine), and then the week after back up to 60ish I would have thought. I suppose my question is, does it say I am peaking just because I have inadvertently done reduced mileage last week? Or is it cleverer than that? |

What watch do you have? I believe the more modern ones use HR/ HRV data and some FirstBeat magic as well.

Training Status is simply training load and VO2 max.

Thank both. CW, it is a Fenix 6x Pro. SPR, I will have a read. It has spotted a VO2 Max increase, and the last couple of weeks it is tracking my RHR as lower than it has been since.....well, forever. I do feel fit, but I wasn't really expecting it to particularly notice. |
