About the course builder in GC, i have looked around for a bit, and its probably not useful for med since a lot of trails i want to use is not there on google maps.
Damn. i guess i have to try some other software.
But, its not as easy and straight forward as i thought.
of course i can learn and use something else.

But i wanted to find something simple, so i can create a route pretty easy and fast, and just upload it. but as it is now, not so much.

If you use the GC website you can switch between Google, HERE and OpenStreetMap which is good for trails. The heatmap is useful too.

Yes i saw that, but with openstreetmap, it force you to make it public.
The others still didnt have the trials and roads i run at.
And heatmap probably wont help since it cant draw "follow road" then.

Well i have to find something else.
Fetch route tool also has a map where a lot of trails and paths is missing unfortunately.

I had to turn my ‘peaking’ thing off! It gets annoying when you run every day because you are either over reaching or peaking and Garmin doesn’t really understand run streaking!

Can't you just do straight line / freehand courses Bowman where a trail you know is there isn't snapping on the map properly? Nav by watch isn't perfect given the size of the map on most watches, but a little bit of imprecision on the routes over trails where the actual path is most likely pretty obvious isn't usually an issue.

Larkim, yes that might be one solution. Thanks.
Although, then i can´t do new routes, which was the primary reason to make routes. Of places i haven´t been.

Bowman I find nearly all the footpaths that exist on Fetch's own route builder. Before that I used to use routemaps.nl.

Yes, I can see that. But I'd have thought that for *most* trails open street map is pretty comprehensive and if a trail is missing a quick toggle onto the satellite view will normally make it obvious where you should be going!
