I would like the training load numbers but unfortunately you can only see your current numbers on the watch and not the history on the app with training status off.

Actually you can see week by week training load but no graph of it.

Was in John Lewis, had seen they had the Fenix 6 Pro for £379, thought couldn't hurt to have a look and they had a return for £359. The charger cable clearly had never been unwrapped and the watch was spotless. The assistant said they get a surprising number of unwanted gifts returned especially after Christmas so I couldn't say no.

7s has arrived. It fits my wrist much better and I can see me learning to forget it is there. It is a little heavier and thicker then the FR935 but not much for all the extra battery and functionality.

Any one doing routes with POI and then using on the watch for running?

Looking do do a new route and have that on the watch so I know where to turn and what not.

Sat for a while with GC, “Garmin explore” and also looked at “base camp” but couldn’t really find a easy way to do a new route and sync it to my Fenix.

And if you do use this feature, will you change activity during run to look at the map activity, or use the map data screen in the existing run activity?

How do it work?!

Ive added routes by uploading a GPX file to Garmin Connect then clicking "sync to device" on the GC website (not app), then syncing the watch. I can then follow the route for a run or hike. If you use the map screen during the activity its ok but I don't know what happens if you change activity

Basecamp is a faff too far. I make the GPX files in OSMaps

I like BaseCamp. I guess it's because I've got so many routes stashed in it and it's a database more than anything else, but I am always surprised at how many people don't like it. Garmin seem to agree with the general sentiment, because although you can still download it, the May 2021 was the last upgrade and they've moved to an on-line system that just doesn't have the same ooomph.

Bowman, I haven't got a F7 and I believe inbuilt POI is new for that device? But on my Fenix 6 I just plot the route in strava it syncs to GC, and then I transfer the route to my watch. Works well. On my Run activity-type, I select the Course I want to follow and one of the screens on that activity-type is the map screen, so I scroll to that within the Run activity type when out for a run.

That’s a bargain The_Saint

I must admit I’ve been looking at routes that Garmin suggest haven’t done one yet.

Glad you’re happy with your 7s homer
