3M - if the alternative path isn't reasonable what I'd do in that situation (because I'm getting more and more curmudgeonly as I get older) is tramp across the newly ploughed field and start to reinstate the path.

I'd also report it to the local council's Rights of Ways officer (who usually just ignores it!)

Sigh
Anyway, in my dream I was racing Edinburgh parkrun which is on the same promenade. Approaching the finish with a good time in sight, all of a sudden the tide was coming in and fast and covering the route and I had to finish the parkrun by swimming the last 20 metres or so.

That'd be a nightmare for the timekeepers, and the finish token person! "Please continue to bob along in the order you crossed the line, please". :-)

Fragile Do Not Bend
3M - I’m assuming this was England? The farmer is supposed to “make good” (whatever that means) the surface of the footpath within 14 days of ploughing it. gov.uk

I know from experience this doesn’t always happen and usually in those the path gets trodden back into place by walkers.

They are, and most seem not to. Which I never understand as it just means people end up wandering all over the place and trampling crops / trespassing etc. Most walkers are keen to respect the countryside and keep to the appropriate paths (unless it OA land) so making it harder for them seem counter-productive.

Fenix 7 and Epix 2 (which is 7 size, not 7X) are up on the Garmin website. Like for like they are actually a little cheaper than equivalent 6 units, but the bottom end units are gone - everything is the equivalent of the 6 Pro, and all 7X are solar, so a lot more expensive than a non solar 7. Look to have multiband GPS but they’re not pushing it very hard bar on the Epix. Worldwide downloadable maps rather than the regional ones on the 6 pro series.

I wouldn't have thought the press embargo would be lifted until the US are awake! Off to have a look.

Also hearing that multiband GNSS is only on the sapphire units across the range. Which makes it pretty expensive to buy into. Pity as that is one of the things that might have convinced me the upgrade was worth it. (I mean I’ll probably do a flanker and buy one eventually anyway, but certainly won’t be first kid in the block with one)

So much stuff. What's new? (I guess I wait for DCR to post!)

I love how the F7X Sapphire Solar is £215 off, down to £644.99 on the day of release!
