OK - silly question time...

Just got my 305 and have it charging in front of me. Once it has located the satellites and knows where it is in the world, do you need to keep the watch uncovered? What I'm trying to say is, can I wear a long sleeve top that covers the watch or will this break the line of sight to the satellites and mess up the readings?

Sorry if this seems obvious...flame as appropriate.

Nope Dave, long sleeved tops won't worry it.

Thanks for the quick reply 2FF.

That's put my mind at rest. The only thing I could find about the signal was to do with tunnels and underpasses and that got me thinking about signal loss. Can't wait to go and play now.

Mine even worked on one run when it was in the lid of my rucksack. Can't figure out how, though.

Steve -- you asked about the "transfer complete" and "no connection" thing. I had that, and found a thread about Garmin problems where someone else did too, and solved it by deleting something they'd programmed in. I tried the same, and deleted a route or workout or something, and it's back to working fine. Have you recently set up something new that might have caused it?

Bit annoying if I can't use the routes feature though; haven't tried again yet to see if I can.

It was me with the connection problem. It is a bug that when you load a course from your pc off a run you have done, it all goes pear shaped. Had to delete course off Garmin and it started working again.

Thanks StringSideUp & parkbench - I'll give that a go.

Last night I tried motionbased but that seems to have deleted all my old stuff from training centre, it's also saying that my garmin profile and the profile of the computer don't match (!?!?!).

Having said that, I did try to send a course to my Garmin a few weeks ago, from what you've said, that is the cause of my problem.

Cheers lads, that did the trick. I seem to have 3 to 4 running activities logger per run now though - think I need to get my head round the autolap settings.

Thanks again.
