If I remember right, it was Yorkshire Plodder who deserves my credit, as he originally advised me.

Has anybody got any tips on pace smoothing? I have mine set to "most" but it still jumps around like a ferret in a sack. On the last run I did it varied from 7:14m/mi to 10:33m/mi when I thought I was running at a fairly constant pace. |

Has anyone ever had a run vanish? Went out for my lsr today - used the watch on the way round, recorded it all fine. Switched it off to stop it complaining about lack of satellites when I came in (as usual) and when I plugged it in to upload my run ... nothing happened. Tried using Ascent and Garmin software then looked on the watch and it says the last run i did was on the 17th. Would love to recover the details or prevent it happening again. Also - how many runs before they get full? |

Good work What is the tape over the electrical contacts for when you're wearing it? |

Santy, quite a while ago lots of the faulty ones became faulty due to the software not switching off the contacts when they sensed it had been removed from the cradle. As they were live and mostly near or on the runner's skin, as the run progressed sweat shorted out the contacts. Eventually the unit gave up either through the battery being knackered due to it or something frying inside. Subsequent software updates said that this problem had been cured. However, I sent TWO more back with the same problem AFTER they said it had been cured so I decided not to take any chances from then on and have used the tape ever since. This one has lasted the longest ever and is still working fine after 16 months. Icklechick, the old ones used to have a fault where if they got loads of runs n them they would start writing into memory occupied by the program code which had the unfortunate effect of buggering up the unit. Ever since then I have made a habit of deleting all my runs in the unit about every week or so. I upload my runs immediately after any session you see. Has anyone got anything they would like me to include in the article? |

Thanks Ian - most appreciated ... will delete the runs. I upload after every session but had never deleted anything.

I also delete runs after I've uploaded on to PC as I find it saves hassle, I've also found if I save courses this can cause problems BUT is more in line with my PC being old BUT still trying to do a job, laptop is faster but hey PC still works also Heart Rate training with 305 REALLY rocks for me at mo, great bit of kit |
