Hello Rev! Nice to see you back. No running here either.
Good luck with your new regime :)

Thanks all for the welcome back.

Just returned from my first Functional Fitness class. 45 minutes of “work at your own pace” exercises focussing on the muscles needed for the activities of daily living (sounds good for a new F60) plus balance, flexibility and a bit of HIIT on a static bike.

I am absolutely knackered and my hamstrings and hip adductors are gonna kill tomorrow, thanks to the walking lunges. However, the contribution it made to the activity targets on my Apple Watch were disappointing, consequently I still need to do at least 25 minutes of moderate walking today, and rack up another 550 Activity Calories. It also claims I’ve done only 1,500 steps - huh!

I loved it and I’ve booked for next Saturday :-)

Managed to consume 2 bottles of Prosecco yesterday with a friend 🤦🏻‍♀️ That’s not going to help, is it?

Yesterday morning the scales were very complimentary

Then I went for tea and cake with a friend, and had wine and a magnum for tea. I’m out for Sunday roast (mr pix’s birthday meal) today so don’t expect to see the same or similar number tomorrow!

Well, Pixie, since I quietly updated the spreadsheet on Friday, the scales have gone up each morning - but no cake, magnum or Sunday roast here. OK, so I followed my healthy snack of rye bread and peanut butter yesterday evening with two mini mars bar look alike after Mr had gone for a bath, but otherwise, eating has been healthy and moderate.

Oh but the exercise! I can feel every minute of yesterday’s class in my muscles this morning. That’ll be it - water retention due to DOMS.

I should probably refrain from weighing till next Friday. But I think we all know THAT’s not going to happen.

I have however had a look back at my weight history versus my current goals. I’m currently hovering a bit above 18 and a half stone, and the last time I was under that was in October. So that’s my first mini-goal. However, the next goal, and the one I’ve put on the spread sheet, is to get under 18 stone. The last time I was there, briefly, was in 2018 after I’d walked the Camino. In fact I was talking about that as a goal the last time I was on this thread a couple of years ago. It seems to be something of a barrier in my life.

I'm sure today is water thanks to yesterday's cake etc
I weigh daily .... If I stop it seems to be combined with a f**kit mindset and I go totally off the rails.

If I use yesterday's weight I'd be down almost 4lb this year but I'll ge happy if tomorrow is sts and if it's not I know why. Nothing else planned sociably for a month so that's good

I am struggling to shift weight but I can certainly see the difference in my shape.

I really need to get a grips with food though - keeping eating things I shouldn't and then suffering big time with my stomach

Just -1lb this week, but it's in the right direction so that's OK
