Flabfighting 800ers, am considering giving this a go for the next 3 weeks, seeing as it looks like I’ll be on the injury sofa.

I have aquired a pdf of the recipes from the latest book, but they appear full of trendy stuff like avocados and almond milk that I don’t and won’t eat, so it looks like Ill need mfp to keep track and work out what I can have

Do you have any idea what sort of % cals from carbs the reduced carbs actually is?

Fmail me your address RH; I've got a spare copy of the original 8 week BSD diet book. It covers the principles of the diet and about 60 pages of recipes with a suggest 4 week menu plan at the back.

There are plenty of recipes in there for 3 weeks if you want to make up your own menu and you don't need to eat avocados or almond milk if you don't want. I haven't had an avocado for months and the almond milk remains in the cupboard unopened.

Yup, I can’t see it behaving itself for a while- not long or speedy runs anyway.
3 weeks of low cals would boost fatloss though

Thanks :)

Rosehip, I just took a quick look at my Kindle version of the Fast 800 easy, which has basic nutritional info. Vegetarian main meals seem to be in the range 20-40% of cals from carbs, probably because of using pulses. The 40% was a lentil dhal. Vegetable sides and meaty mains are more like 10-20%.

The BSD book I have doesn't list anything beyond cals per serving, but as it follows the same principle of no simple carbs I'd guess it the same.

20-30% with the occasional 40% sounds sustainable - thanks SK :)

The latest book (FAST 800 keto) says up to 50g of carbs a day and at least 50g of protein. I don't think the original book stipulated any set amounts, but I might be mis-remembering.

Quick question- is the 800 and BSD recipes similar? My stomach never got on with the BSD and I don’t want to waste my money on another book.

I’m going back to SW tonight as I need to make myself accountable to someone. I went on Friday morning but the car park was full so I guessed the class was too which meant I would be late for work where as I have time tonight although I will be at my heaviest but that’s okay as it then gives me a base to work from.

The 50g carb figure is for keto rather than just low carb. It's almost impossible to do if you don't eat meat.

Having flicked through the BSD and 800 books on Kindle today I'd say the only real difference is that the 800 occasionally had small amounts of simple carbs.

LG, if your stomach's sensitive to some things I'd have thought you could adapt to avoid anything which is a trigger. At its simplest, both cut out bread, pasta, rice, potatoes and other starchy veg as well as high sugar fruit.

What I found with BSD was eating full fat versions of yog, cream etc just played havoc with my heartburn and lack of a gall bladder doesn’t help at times.

I only eat chicken really or salmon. Occasionally I eat red meat but not very often.
