Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I've allowed myself to record a half a pound loss today ;-) For the last three weeks I've been hovering between 8st 13 and 9st and it just depends on how my digestive system is working :-)

Considering that I've had a ciabatta roll for lunch several times this week, and 2/3 of a Mars bar (I could never eat a whole one in one go so I just chop a bit off and put the rest back in the cupboard) etc etc, staying so level is fine by me.

I'm quite sure I don't take enough fluid. I really should make an effort.

Another one here who needs to drink more water (along with sewing my mouth shut)

Back to the swimming pool this week so that will hopefully help

Helllooo lovely FF'ers.

Please can someone take me in hand, I'm another 2lb up this week, taking me back to the weight I was at my first post Christmas WI.
Bone stress reaction has meant I can't run and instead of making an extra effort to shift some pounds as part of the recovery I have been eating for Scotland :-(

Big hugs Irontubs. What are you able to do exercise wise? Happy to help with cheerleader duties or even to put together a wee program for you.

That sounds really tough Irontubs :-(

Now that work's less hectic and I'm the right side of week off I'm able to focus on this again. Joining OH on his fast days and making changes other weekdays too (no booze or simple carbs). I will enjoy myself - moderately - at weekends though. Today's been good so far and I've slept so little the last two nights I suspect my day will be over soon!

Thanks Corrah and SK.
I've still been able to get my bike sessions done, it's just the habitual 'comfort' eating that has pissed me off and made me heavier-grrrrr

I've a very cautious attempt at running today to see how things are.

I managed to stay on track so hoping I can harness that achievement to do it again today.

Always happy to have a cheerleader :-)

For me, "comfort" eating was usually about reacting to one source of discomfort by eating too much and replacing it with another source of discomfort - never something that actually made me feel any better.

Those following the BSD principles, or interested generally in how our bodies process food, might like this article and video.

joinzoe.com

It summarises the results of a study into how blood sugar affects our hunger. Basically, there's a correlation between how much our blood sugar dips after eating and how much we go on to eat. This isn't quite the same as glycemic index, but the general advice to avoid simple carbohydrates is similar. The study found that breakfast was particularly important - i.e. not to eat a sugary or simple carb breakfast.

(GI is concerned with how much blood sugar increases after eating but not how quickly it then decreases.)
