I'm a bit ambivalent on the full-fat thing. Absolutely choose foods which have no additives - no sugar, no sweeteners etc., and don't be afraid of good cooking oils. But if I prefer fat-free natural yogurt I'd continue to have it.

Will see whether I manage this in April. Easter gets in the way a bit but that's only a day or two (and I'm not a chocolate fan, apart from super-dark stuff, so Easter eggs are no issue).

Interesting that people have different experiences of Atkins, I did it at the time and ate loads of free veg, I think some people just saw it as an excuse to indulge in bacon and eggs and chicken wings and that aspect got the publicity. The strict part was just the first two weeks then it gradually introduced nuts, seeds, pulses, root veg etc, and at that point was quite a healthy plan. I always think it got a hard time because it focussed on real food rather than cheap processed stuff that makes money (e.g. breakfast cereal). Of course, once he sold the company the Atkins brand came out with its own processed rubbish so if you can’t beat them etc.

The rationale for 'full fat' instead of 'low fat' in BSD is to help you feel full. I have always found low fat yoghurt a bit of a penance so to eat proper Greek yoghurt again is great for me :-) But there's no over-emphasis on eating fats - I never looked at Atkins in detail but I got the impression you 'had' to eat lots of fat.

But ultimately everyone is different and you have to find a way of eating that works for you. BSD definitely works for me whereas SW or WW didn't feel sustainable but I know people who swear by SW.

Exactly LD we are all different 😁. For me I has always been a simple calories in versus calories out. That way I can have what I want

I always say you have to find what works for you if it was one thing fit all we’d all be doing it.

I only use full fat food (apart from nilk that is semi skimmed) I use oil fir cooking (although minimal) the fat I was referring to was in meats & deep frying. I adore Greek yoghurt but can’t sant the low dat version so I’ll have that 3x a week with LF I’d avoid it.

A lot of low fat stuff has all kinds of stuff added to it. And I find I don’t need as much say FF mayo as I would have if it was low fat.

The minute I say to myself I can’t have xxx I want it. It becomes hard.

I have never looked at Atkins or the BSD.Just calories out versus calories in but always full fat versions never low fat.But what works for one does not work for all even if we had 2 people same height and weight I bet they would have different approaches.
I am upping protein which by its nature lowers carbs early days so we shall see over a month.

GG I always have full fat mayo and you really do not need as much.

its amazing what mayo goes with :)

I made a vegetable rosti for lunch today while listening to a work presentation slight overcook on the rosti, (grate all the veg - today I had potato, sweet potato, courgette, onion, coriander squeezing out excess liquid) mix with Indian spices and dry fry in a frying pan. It didn't stick very well today I ether took out too much liquid in the veg or I needed to add an egg to bind (I didn't check the recipe) I serve with a fried egg burst the yolk so Ellie dog has an egg for tea) it looked like a car crash but tasted lovely.

Sounds lovely though. See this is why I need to try stuff although I couldn’t do this at a lunch time when working but good for a try next week when on holiday

I can send you more details if you’d like LG. It’s all prep and trying to do it attached to a headset and laptop wasn’t good planning should have swapped with yesterday’s sandwich.
