I have joined two local FB groups. cba with ebay, posting stuff etc, but local collection or drop off is easy, and all cash no paypal.

I am amazed at people posting stuff for sale that says “just needs a clean” - surely if selling you would clean stuff so it looks at its best? obviously not :)

Yes; "needs a clean" if it's going on Freecycle is a different matter.

I agree, B. I saw one of those the other day. Why wouldn't you clean it before you sell it?!

Busy day in geordieland we have finally made a start clearing room 1 to dexiate and while this doesn’t look a lot there is a lot of stuff targeted for charity and also 2 bin bags of rubbish/recycling. I already feel lighter!!! Long way to go but it feels more doable now.

The Mighty Fleecy
The only thing about freecycle which annoys me is people asking for photos or more details when I’ve already given some info.

It’s free. Either take a punt and pick it up and if it’s no good then give it away/take it to the tip or fuck off. The clue is in the word free. That’s why I’m glad I gave my expensive leftover tiles to the nice woman who was polite first and grateful afterwards. A polite email works wonders for me, if you ask for details I’ll ignore you unless it’s literally the only email.
Rant over. I have recycled lots of stuff via freecycle and would much rather stuff was used than went to the tip. I have a load of paint to put on there but need to get some jars out from the big containers for touching up first. This week I think, I have some lovely paint in a massive container which someone will love.

They don't seem to do that on "my" freecycle, Fleecy. If they did, I think I'd say: It's in the porch, come and look, take it if you want it and not if you don't.

We have used Freegle with success. Managed to get rid of a lot of stuff from the loft. Like Fleecy I just don't want it going to the tip!

Time to resurrect this thread for a while, as you may know I'm having new kitchen and bathroom which means clearing everything out, my flat is small I have a shed. Work starting Thursday. I have started to clear some bits out last real day today as work on Monday and Tuesday night

Trying to declutter as I go

Have some bags to take to charity shop tomorrow.

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
