K ended up being out there for hours but didn’t seem to mind. Next time it won’t be as much.

We tried it once in the BBQ and it was such a pain.

We've got a massive bag now - far too much to shred so are considering paying to get it taken away.

I have made a start on getting rid of at least 5 items a day - planning to keep this going as long as possible, at least with my own stuff. Having discovered recently that the little picture of a pot on the back of cosmetics/toiletries shows the number of months after opening that the stuff is still good to use has helped reduce the contents of the bathroom cupboard by about 50% - I had some makeup remover that I reckon was about 12 years old! I so rarely wear makeup that it was hardly used.

Kids will be a different issue, as they are very sentimental and have good memories. My eldest recently had a meltdown when I told her that I'd given away most of my teddies from when I was little, as apparently I should have kept them for her. She wanted me to try to get them back! Given that I gave them to the children's hospital about 30 years ago, I suspect that may not be possible.......

I've managed to get rid of quite a bit of stuff in the last few days, it's good but hardly making a dent in what I actually want to get sorted.

If anyone needs a bit of distraction from declittering. Tidying with Marie Kondo is a new series on Netflix.

If anyone is decluttering a plain white duvet cover or sheet, may I have it for T7's Greek Day costume?! I'll pay postage 😊

Help advice and support for declutterers

Special May Challenge

theminimalists.com

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
