Instead of going out this morning we stayed in and finally sorted through all the old work and household paperwork that we brough from our flat. Some we shredded before we left, but we ran out of time. After getting everything in bags we then went out and bought an incinerator and K is in the garden burning it all. It is making loads of ash but hopefully soon it will all be gone and we can start 2019 with a clutter-free home office.

I find it a lot easier to burn it en masse than shredding it. You can spread the ash on the garden B, as you now have one. :)

New challenge for next year - gardening. :) Yes, it's fine, good nutrients for the soil.

I found it very smoky and liable to smoulder rather than burn, when I was doing the same. There must be a trick to keeping the air going in, I had to tend mine and keep prodding it.

That's what I do Meg, I have a metal stick thing - might have been a curtain pole in another life, and you have to keep lifting bits. I brought a shower cap from my Twixmas break and intend to put it on my head next time I have a burn-up.

Mr Woo burned a load in his fire basket which worked quite well the last time I had a sort out. Being a secret pyromaniac ;) he really enjoyed himself and is looking forward to the next time :)

I don’t think I can feasibly use mine any more as I now live in a row of townhouses. It’s just taking up space, I’ll have to see if someone wants it.

Special May Challenge

theminimalists.com

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
