I'm shuddering at the thought, RR.

We thought that we were in for a nightmare couple of days in Cornwall a few years ago when the Tropical Pressure festival was on. Thursday night (before the event started) the music level was horrendous, but this was due to the sound engineers being a bit too enthusiastic during their set up. During the actual festival we hardly noticed anything at all.

Last year when we were on a site in Yorkshire over the Jubilee weekend, the local landowner threw a bash nearby with loud banging music which went on into the early hours. Our site warden had not been told that the event was happening despite the site being owned by the exact same (selfish git) landowner !!

Yeah, it sounded awful. A large part of camping for me is the quiet. We're leaving the house at 6am so will want an early night no doubt.

In fairness, it was there on their website in black and white when I booked. I just skipped past the block of ugly text. They were very good in cancelling it for me with a full refund.

We had to listen to a Billy Idol concert when at Sandringham a couple of weeks ago - no warning about that, was a bit annoyed. The car rally thing the next day was quite noisy too.
Had no idea they had events like that at the House, so have made a note to check ‘what’s on’ local pages before booking anywhere now!

I once went away for a weekend in an xc-skiing hotel in the off-season. They didn't tell me there was a works outing of disco-partying estate agents that saturday night! We were the only other guests. A glass fire door was shattered at some point. Reception got an earful the next day.

It’s looking very peaceful.
