I highly recommend it HP. We went from the Sugarbowl car park through the Chalamaine gap, across the Lairig Ghru, then up. It was about 7 miles to the summit. Good paths most of the way but there were some boulder fields but not as bad as Cairn Toul, if you've done that one you'll know what I mean! Also the Chalamaine gap boulders weren't as difficult as the boulder field on the Lairig Ghru itself. But it was easier because it was dry, I wouldn't like to do it in the wet cos I'm a bit of a wuss with wet boulders.

Ally-C hope to, but not in any hurry. It's hard when you work full time and I'm also not confident enough to do any winter climbing. You're a lot further on than me 😀

I’ve compleated, just haven’t got round to putting them all on here. Done about 70 Corbetts and playing at them a tad.

That's right, I think I knew that, but then I was looking at the tables in here and got confused. You need to get them all on here 😀.

Will take a look at that route. We’ve been through Chalamain gap a couple of times. Not done Cairn Toul yet. J and I could have waved at you yesterday from our hill. We could see Braeriach.

Chalamaine gap in pitch darkness with a fading headtorch is quite an experience I once arrived at the Corrour bothy and it was full to bursting, so a late-evening transit back up the Lairig Ghru was required, I got back to the mountain station very late and very tired.

p.s. has anyone done all the Cairngorm 4000s in a single outing? I failed on my first attempt (see above), but cracked it a couple of years ago on a nice day and it was a truly brilliant day out, I recommend it.

Van had its anual habitation check today, which it ‘passed’ no problems. (Used needing to be in Newark for 8.30 as the perfect excuse to finally have a solo trip) Does everyone have these checks on their campers? It’s not a cheap exercise! |

Yes ours was last week and we were not so lucky - new brakes and new tyres needed
