Daughter-in-law will be going into hospital tomorrow to be induced. Tomorrow is actually her due date (what happened to letting nature take its course?)

That's what I thought, Owlie.
Either the hospital staff want to make sure of their weekend off, or there is some reason which I haven't been told why they want to get the baby out in the open sooner rather than later. D-i-L had a very major operation on her heart a number of years ago, maybe that has something to do with it.
