NE, I 8nstalled timers on my electric hot water heaters. They are on 2 hours in 24 and only heat the top half, which is enough for the dishes and 2 showers or one loooooong soak in the bath!

British gas have just emailed to ask for a meter reading as the price is going down on Saturday - though not by much. Now, do they really expect me to give them an accurate measure of useage at the higher price ?? |

Goodness! Even more important that I sat tight with the DWP over my mortgage: it is largely paid off and fully offset and it remains that way! I have just received the letter that I have been awarded PIP ☺️ the wolf is from the door! |

I would definitely jump into a mortgage thread if there was one. In terms of energy bills, ours came down recently which was nice, and without really realising, our usage has dropped in comparison to this time last year. I have a strong feeling it’s because we are using the oven considerably less (as we eat at a family members 2 nights a week now) and mainly use the air fryer for most of our cooking. Not sure what else it would be. Not sure how much impact that would have though. |

We have recently bought an air fryer. All the scaremongering here about the perils of our electric Aga made us panic. Have to say, I'm very impressed by it. Reminds me of a small nuclear reactor

I wonder if I should get one. A whole oven for 3 arancini for example seems very wasteful.

Big air fryer fan here, in fact I'd say I do 95% of my cooking with just the air fryer and a multi level steamer (using the hot steamer water for washing up after). Not fussed about the 'trendiness' of it - but it's a very quick, very efficient small fan oven and a perfect size for meals as I currently live on my own. |

TRO, do you recommend yours and if so, which one is it? Now that I have been awarded PIP, I can possibly afford an air frier, which will quickly earn itself back in no longer using the oven. Currently almost daily! |
