Jda and fozzy, I was using sound as a wave analogy rather than nuclear decay like high energy particles or gamma rays, to allay Hann's concerns. But you're right - light, infrared or radio waves would have been better analogies! G

Aldi are selling air fryers for £49.99, saw an advert in there this morning. I watched that Channel 5 programme about air fryers, answered all my questions. So I plan to buy a very small one fairly soon. I have limited space in my kitchen and a small one will do me. I mostly batch cook, soups, curries etc and then reheat in the microwave. Cook all my veg in the microwave unless I'm doing a stir fry. Couldn't manage without my microwave. |

My cheapo air fryer gets a fair bit of use. It's great for jacket spuds: 10 mins nuked in the microwave then 15 minutes in the air fryer to scorch and crisp up the skins. Any leftover veg I have lurking at the back of the fridge: roll in a little olive oil and in for 15-20 mins. Corn on the cob works well. Or a little Pukka pie or chicken thigh with a handful of chips. I only use the built-in oven when I have guests visiting and need to cater for a crowd. Good gadget, I recommend. |

6.5 litre capacity - that's going to be be a fairly huge air fryer.

My wife spent forever deciding which airfryer to buy and now she has, I doubt she will use any of the 15 vaunted functions. Personally, I just want to know how to turn it on/off.
