Soul, Niro, and Kona all have the same battery and drivetrain. Soul is boxy looking but surprising how curvy everything is close up and when washing it. The Kona will do a 100 mile journey in its sleep. |

Ooh, big brother alert. The car has 51% battery left as my wife is nearly home. She also took a detour to what I think was the M&S at the garage to get some dinner or snacks. No, I haven't spoken to her because she didn't answer her phone. Yes, I can see where the car is!

I'm looking at the Kona. Our 2008 Mondeo estate has to make it to Exeter tomorrow, then back with T1's whole year of Stuff in it. I hope it will... |

Carps, let me know if I can tell you any real world stuff about it. My cons: * small boot (weird for a hatch back - if you can fold down back seats then lots of room, but not as big as a Mondeo estate at all!) Pros: * seems v cheap to run * best range (for the 64kWh, not the 32kWh obv) for the price. MG is cheaper but less range. * OK inside, electronics are all quite clever and work well (this may be true of any new car, I don't know, haven't had one this new!) * drives OK (fast acceleration, but average handling. Remember I'm comparing this to my BMWs - 1 series, 3 series and 4 series!) |

Lease cost me £325 per month 2 years, 8,000 miles per year, no upfront cost. New is £35k - 2.5k gov discount? Cheapest second hand I can see for 64kWh battery is £26,500 68 reg 8,000 miles, top of range. autotrader.co.uk |

Same price as Kona (new) but looks much nicer!! (had it been available as similar lease price, I would have had this over my Kona at the time. It wasn't. But now looks like same cash or finance purchase price. Leases are still higher though. Don't know why.)

Actually, £348 for 4 years, no up front and 8,000 miles per year. I might have gone for that if it had been around when I was looking. It wasn't!! G
