Dash Cam Recommendations?

Now I'm back to commuting everyday, including a drive up to Elgin once a week for the foreseeable, on a road notorious for accidents/issues and after my car being hit & managed by a cyclist this morning, I'm going to be looking in to buying a dash cam. Are there any brands anyone would recommend looking at?

We got a "Thinkware" one with front & rear cameras professionally fitted, cost £450 (incl. the dashcam itself) but they did a brilliant job. It's wired in to the car so it also records in 'parking mode'. We had it installed by Motorfit Loughborough in March last year.

Here's a sample of it from this morning, I just downloaded the front facing camera. This is fitted in a VW Golf.

It saves in continuous 1 minute segments onto an SD card, but you can also connect your smartphone directly to the Dashcam by wifi and transfer selected files.
