Oh dear! Hope she listens to advice soon, GG. It would be a shame not to be on top form to enjoy the holiday.

Sorry to hear that gg. Icing isn't going to do anything for a stress fracture and neither will a physio - she needs to rest it if she wants to enjoy her cruise.

My dads email got hacked / spoofed yesterday

The hacker emailed everyone saying he had lost his voice and wanted to send a gift card to a sick friend but had lost his wallet.

Turns out dad had his email address all over the internet as it’s to do with some of his voluntary work. Have advised him to use a separate email address for that stuff in future. Luckily I spotted it quickly and called him so he spent most of yesterday sorting things.

Physio has done a great job maybe not helping stress fracture directly but she went in with a crutch she was using wrong and was wrong height for her. Showed her how to get up and down stairs easier loosened off her calf and ice and ibuprofen to help with any swelling. They’re off to a caravan on Sunday which will remove stairs.

Thanks for the good wishes now to get her to do as she’s advised.

We had a quite sad time today. MiL recalled the night that her husband passed away and how she had to return home and tell Mrs axe and her brother when they were aged 12 & 10. Things got very emotional.

Fields, Google Chrome has quite a good feature that it tells you when your login is compromised and in what systems/services, so you can change the login/password. Give me a shout on fmail if you want any info.

Bazo, that does sound sad. :-) G

I thought I'd start a thread, as lots of us have elderly folks that we worry about/care for.

Also: After someone dies, if their home insurance was only in their name, sadly the cover becomes void. But if the policy was in joint names, it will still cover the surviving policyholder (though the names on the policy will need to be updated).

Pension Credit. The rules are a bit complex but if your elderly relative has some sort of disability (in this case dementia/Alzheimer's) and go into a home, they may be able to claim pension credit. So if carers allowance stops, it seems pension credit can start. It can also be backdated.
