I feel like I am letting her down, but she also makes me so angry.

My wife deserves to have some time with me and she even begrudges that.

You are hardly letting her down by having a life outside her needs and wants.
Take yourself and your wife away and enjoy it.

The fact that you feel like that shows what a caring person you are but people always say to me 'you can't pour from an empty cup'. You need to look after yourself, and that also means looking after your relationship.

Vice - I think you care too much. Admirable as it is there’s only so much you have to give and you need to choose who gets it.

FiL on final approach. Doesn’t sound as though he’ll last the night.

About This Thread

I thought I'd start a thread, as lots of us have elderly folks that we worry about/care for.

Also: After someone dies, if their home insurance was only in their name, sadly the cover becomes void. But if the policy was in joint names, it will still cover the surviving policyholder (though the names on the policy will need to be updated).

Pension Credit. The rules are a bit complex but if your elderly relative has some sort of disability (in this case dementia/Alzheimer's) and go into a home, they may be able to claim pension credit. So if carers allowance stops, it seems pension credit can start. It can also be backdated.
