I've started eating the chocolates in the advent calendar I found in my drawer today. So far I'm up to the 3rd. It will soon be Christmas.

I have an intense dislike of the building itself - think it is very ugly and unharmonious with the London skyline in general (nothing against tall modern buildings - there are some fabulous ones). However the Sky Garden looks wonderful and has the advantage of NOT being able to see the Walkie Talkie as you look out on the 360º view.

I forgot my New Thing from last night. Raffo and I saw Stewart Lee at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. We've been there many times, we've even seen Stewart Lee there previously (the Content Provider tour) but this was one of those not-for-ages-so-it-feels-new.

And his material was a mix of old and new.

I went to a village hall less than 5 miles from me that I've never been to before. And then did Pilates but on a foam roller, it was very wobbly! 2 new things on a very sunshiney day.

New bike route for me today with a friend I haven’t really ridden with before. We got some nice views.

They tried to deliver my newt bike whilst I was out.

My Newt is an odd one, but definitely a new experience. Came back from lunch and someone had left an envelope for me at Artists Entrance with a cheque for £10,000 in. Unsolicited donations are rare, and of that size, almost unheard of. It's from 'a keen concertgoer' with a 'neglected pot of savings to put to good use'. I felt a bit emotional on opening it. It's a privilege to work for an organisation that is so loved.

Wow, AL. That is almost magical.
How fantastic.

About This Thread

Most of you know the score. Much in the bizarre way Easter has come to mean Chocolate, Lent is mainly thought of as an opportunity to Give Up Chocolate. At least until Easter. You know what I mean, 'What are you giving up for Lent?' * I say NO to this. Away with the hair shirts and the deprivation. Let's embrace change and the NEW. Spring is a time of renewal - and restoration.

Soooooo..... you don't have to take up indoor sky diving like my partner's 90 year old mot...
