Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I’ve been away so had missed all your fabby newts. It’s been nice to catch up.

I went back to Stonehaven for the first time in about 18 months. My boy spent the first 12 years of his life there so there’s a lot of nostalgia. Not a newt as such.

Yesterday I found out a lovely friend has terminal cancer. It’s given me a newt perspective on life. We laughed and we cried. Life really is too f*cking short and I will try to hold onto that sense of making the most of the time I have…however long that may be.

WA that is so random!

Cut the grass, well, some of it, for the first time since September. Had to move builder's mess for 1.5 days first... Before I found the rather mangled grass... Rescued the rest of the garden from assorted bits of plastic, broken buckets, discarden rusting tools, crisp packets, banana and orange peels, off cuts, sawdust, lumps of concrete and plaster... Split and cut hose, had to cut about 5 metres off!!!
But hopefully, I can cut the rest of the grass tomorrow. Now that I have access to that part of the garden, I desperately need to cut back, weed and plant bulbs and seeds. Yup, those bulbs should have been in before Xmas the latest, but, well, we are 3 months late completing the building, innit?

That’s terrible news HP. Laughing and crying is how I’d want to deal with it myself. Making the most of what we all have is so important as none of us know when the music will stop.

Oh HP!

I have the same with my sister... Seriously resentful we are STILL under covid restrictions making it virtually impossible to see each other...
I also have the BRCA1 gene, so very much feeling a certain urgency to live every day as if it is my last.

About This Thread

Most of you know the score. Much in the bizarre way Easter has come to mean Chocolate, Lent is mainly thought of as an opportunity to Give Up Chocolate. At least until Easter. You know what I mean, 'What are you giving up for Lent?' * I say NO to this. Away with the hair shirts and the deprivation. Let's embrace change and the NEW. Spring is a time of renewal - and restoration.

Soooooo..... you don't have to take up indoor sky diving like my partner's 90 year old mot...
