Not exactly a newt but I had to go into work today and it's a very long time since I have been asked (or at least accepted) to work on a Sunday. They also seem to have stretched the shift to 8 hours with no real break unlike the same shift Mon-Fri where someone is available to cover your 'break'. I won't be in a hurry to do that again!

Great newts today! Mine is a bit random- I saw a lady with a parrot on a lead. I've never seen anything like that before. She was sitting down and the parrot was on her knee. I would have liked to see her walking with it flying behind her like a kite!

Thank you very much everyone for the congratulations.
Sorry AL, didnā€™t see youā€™d aced a 10k, I was a bit wrapped up in myself. Congratulations!
Moon target sums it up nicely, Sharkie.
Fields, a mile quicker really puts the result into context, thank you.

Sorting some books that are brand new and hardly opened and after errrrrrrrr 4+ years unlikely to be used.

I hate getting rid of books as I ā¤ļø šŸ“–

Going to ask a friend if she wants them before taking to charity

I've had my first carvery lunch for years. Sushi and I went to a bistro in Rhayader after a walk this morning.

Newts - we had doughnuts for breakfast for the first time ever.
Then went 10 pin bowling with Aliceā€™s children and their OHs. The first time in probably 15 years that Iā€™ve bowled.
Then we had a carvery for lunch (snap Vrap!) for the first time this year
All to celebrate Miniā€™s birthday.

About This Thread

Most of you know the score. Much in the bizarre way Easter has come to mean Chocolate, Lent is mainly thought of as an opportunity to Give Up Chocolate. At least until Easter. You know what I mean, 'What are you giving up for Lent?' * I say NO to this. Away with the hair shirts and the deprivation. Let's embrace change and the NEW. Spring is a time of renewal - and restoration.

Soooooo..... you don't have to take up indoor sky diving like my partner's 90 year old mot...
