Autumnleaves

Not exactly a newt, but it's the first full bloom on our camellia and they always cheer me up.
My actual Newt is that I managed to swim a km in my allotted 25 minutes today - which is pushing my breast-stroke pace to its limits tbh! I came close last week and the pool was quieter today. I used to allow 30 minutes for a km :)

Fields
I’m trying to deal with my reluctance to get out of the house as I often don’t leave for days at a time.

Going for a walk somewhere every Sunday and visiting a new nearby town for an explore (and browse of the charity shops) every Saturday.

Started last weekend.

I was just talking to Sam about a gravel bike...

Don't think I'm anywhere near being able to justify one, though.

I only have a hard tail MTB at the moment. Well if you don’t count the road bike that hasn’t been ridden for years and has dodgy gears which refuse to work.

I'm learning Gaelic on Duolingo. I'm currently at the Janet and John stage of 'This is a cat' so I've a long way to go.

Couldn’t make running club last night but managed to do a solo version of the interval session myself earlier in the day. Turning over a newt leaf and not just doing a “steady plod” when I can’t do the group session 😀

Last two new things are just great and prove how different the newts can be.

I like the fact you DID it, SooWoo, rather that just stating an intention. star

About This Thread

Maintained by Sharkie
Most of you know the score. Much in the bizarre way Easter has come to mean Chocolate, Lent is mainly thought of as an opportunity to Give Up Chocolate. At least until Easter. You know what I mean, 'What are you giving up for Lent?' * I say NO to this. Away with the hair shirts and the deprivation. Let's embrace change and the NEW. Spring is a time of renewal - and restoration.

Soooooo..... you don't have to take up indoor sky diving like my partner's 90 year old mot...
