I have just walked our new 'Winter' parkrun course with some of our core team ahead of using it for the first time on Saturday - I'm doing course set up so hope I remember where to put all the cones and arrows!

Just done my first exam board as external examiner in a new place. I've done the role before, but not at this place.

Ooh! Some of the schools I work with have Gaelic language classes. I like the idea of learning Gaelic but I was never great with languages and suspect Gaelic might not be the easiest. Maybe if I listen to enough niteworks it will sink in. How are you finding it?

My old primary school is a specialist Gaelic centre. I am unimpressed because when I was there we were discouraged from using Lowland Scots, which was what most of us used in every other setting.

Not a very exciting NEWT, however, a hugely significant one: I have swapped my 2400 mg of Ibuprofen slow release I take a day, every day and have been doing so for as long as I can remember. As in, 27+ years? I need them to keep chronic pain in check, so I can function. I have swapped it for Cannabis oil. Two squirts a day, morning and evening. So far, so good! Fingers crossed this will work! |

Is that CBD oil Hanneke? I considered that myself for my chronic pain - but I’m concerned about being tested at work. I’ve recently decided to cut out the painkillers I’m on as well, saves some cash as don’t have to shell out for the prescription prepayment. I’ve got a stockpile should the pain come back.

I have a small stockpile. Yes, CBD oil. I work for myself, so no concerns. It has no substances left in it that could be flagged up in drugs tests I don't think. I have a water soluble type specifically to tackle inflammation and the associated pain. I envisage needing to take some Ibuprofen from time to time but even if I can reduce from 2400 down to 800, i.e. only 1 tablet in stead of 3, that will be AMAZING! Today was my first day in all those years not taking any ibuprofen at all! I am a little stiff and achey, but not bad at all. I did really well on 800 mg plus CBD oil, so I think that will be it... |

Also, I did work in the rain today for 4 hours, so that typically causes pain and stiffness anyway...
