I wish I could do some kind of art course or textiles degree, I miss studying and it gives me focus but no way I could pay for it, I don’t even have a proper job, I am actually happy about that to be honest I like being at home and doing the funny job that I do that doesn’t really involve many hours! I suppose if I worked I could consider doing a course but then I wouldn’t have the time 😂

Anyway today’s newt, 2nd day I haven’t weighed myself, going to see if I can manage a week, and I’ve put my hair up in a newt style today. It’s just been tied up for most of the winter!

My newt today was running in a long sleeved top, no jacket, did think about shorts but decided against, bit chilly here and very blustery.

Well done Linds for running in shorts! Interesting OU conversations, I am thinking of doing some studying when I retire later this year.

I did weigh myself today. That's such an uncommon event that it's almost a newt. The reason was that the first thing I did when I got up, before I was dressed, was to go and fetch something from VP's bathroom, which is where the Oracle of Avoirdupois lives.

Uncovered my echium pininana this morning which has been fleeced up through the winter, though I'm prepared to rush out and cover again if a frost is forecast.

Looks like it's probably survived, though hard to be sure for now. Climate is very marginal round here, especially my exposed garden. Should flower this year if it's alive!

Way back in spring/summer I pre-ordered some new racing/tempo shoes. They arrived on the morning of 15th July. I headed out for an MLR that afternoon and broke my ankle, so never even got to try the shoes on until the moon boot came off in August. I still couldn't run though, so they sat unloved in the box. Until today. This morning I tried them out for the first time on the treadmill. They weren't great on a slow plod, but I think I'll like them on a faster run. Carbon whatsits in the sole. Adidas Adios Pro I think they are.

I like the idea of EU shorts. They *are*!

They are these ones: locketloves.com

Sadly they didn't stop my run from being pants. But they are comfy.

My newt was started yesterday but carries over into today. I am one of a small group who are knitting a sock to test out the pattern for a designer. I'm in an Instagram chat group as part of this - another newt.

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
