Thanks Hann. I’ll need to scan back through today’s newts to pick my favourite.

I am so exhausted from yesterday’s newt and a bad night’s sleep that I haven’t newted so far today.

First proper "gardening" session of the spring for me - I've pottered a bit, but this was 90 minutes of actual graft. First cup of tea sat with laptop in the garden has followed.

Going to tidy up now and go through my seed packets and work out a plan :)

Looked at OU
passed out at cost of modules
6.2k (ish) for a level 1 course that basically gives me nothing!

The cost has gone up so much, Pix. My modules for my Masters degree were a fraction of that cost but I completed the whole thing in 1999! :-o OU studies for me will have to start next year. Too expensive this year!

Have done similar, Pix. And decided that if I'm going to pay money to do a degree for my own amusement I'm going to pay the extra to go to a terrestrial university.

where are these free ones WA?
My BSc was £1600
My Teaching degree was free as I got a bursary for the fees
Paid a total of about £100 for 2 masters modules during ITT in 2010 and the rest of the MA was paid for by DoE
I was only able to do it 'cos I paid off the mortgage with inheritance so didn't have that to pay

I have a slight newt although I might have introduced it in previous years.

Although it seems almost automatic for the Newt of the Day Picker to choose something from the previous 24 hours I think they should be allowed to pick ANYTHING that's gone before. Especially if they can tell us why they are so keen on that particular thing.

Hope you are all in agreement.

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
