Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

There's still some sealant in there, but I don't know how much.
I'm guessing my incompetence has now damaged the tyre beyond repair - I just wish there was a way for idiots like me to be able to fix this kind of thing.

I realised that while I have multiple bikes with tubeless and have plugs, the tubeless usually works so well that I don't have much practice using them! I definitely prefer the dynaplugs to the bacon strips, but don't trust them enough to be a permanent fix - I'd use them to get me home then get a new tyre.

My last puncture was a funny one - it sealed enough to hold the pressure I put in with a mini pump (we were on a touring holiday so limited equipment) although it needed topping up every day, but when I got home and used a track pump on it the sealant failed to hold the higher pressure. I then plugged it as a test before getting a new tyre.

2021 I had an issue with an old tyre and sealant with it spraying out every ride. I was riding on about 2 bar by the middle of every ride. Halfway through the trip I got new tyres and sealant and have had no issues since until I gashed the side wall and had to replace a tyre. I now have one tubeless and one tube lol.

The thing with tubeless is you don’t really know how many punctures you’ve avoided! (Except for one where I had to pull a spiky stick out of my tyre). I didn’t have a puncture ’in the wild’ with tubes. When tubeless do fail it’s more of an issue, but you’d probably had a similar issue with tubes anyway.

Still worth carrying a tube, and the dynaplugs are pretty good too.

Yes I always carry a tube (and have done a practice run of removing the tubeless valve and fitting it!). That said, I've never actually used it on a ride.

Hellooo. Can anyone please recommend something to stop my brakes from screeching. I've just come down a long steep hill and the screech was bouncing off the walls of the flats.

Thanks

If rim brakes:
Brake pads not toed-in to the wheel rims properly?
Grease/dirt on the rims?
