looks good as long as you remember to charge. It's quite expensive though...

Recommendations for cycling shorts please. Doing Ride London and need some new shorts. Bib style or waist ones - what would you recommend? Thanks.

Don't overlook that it's more difficult to take a toilet break with bib-style.

Flatlander The Bullet cam is here now: chilli-tech.com (I was considering getting one as they're not too expensive and probably plenty enough for my purposes.)

I have chilli cams but keep failing to attach them! They’re not totally intuitive to use and a bit shaky but would be fine for commuting, battery life is 3h but you can get extra batteries. The instructions aren’t particularly clear, I really struggled getting mine to work but realised they were wrong! (Eg starts recording as soon as you turn on, but instructions said to press the button again)

Re shorts, it’s a bit of personal preference. I always wear waist shorts and tights as I like to be able to go to the loo easily-this is particularly important if you’re not at a cafe/proper loo! Having said that, I like the look of the endura pro sl.

After that it comes down to how much you want to pay and what sort of pad you prefer. I know a lot of people find DHB quite acceptable. I’m a big Castelli fan, I like their dimpled pad it’s the most comfortable I’ve worn, but they’re upper end of the scale, as are Assos. However they do come up fairly small.

My shorts are from Craft, and they are fairly comfy. Just waist height. I know some people prefer bib to stop them creeping down, but I’ve not had that problem.

Iris do drop seat ones, the relaunched Velovixen site should be selling them. The pads I found good for 6+ rides until I suddenly didn't (something to do with me!)

Now I'm mostly using Albion shorts, although they don't have easy loo break straps, they're currently more comfortable. The straps are set wider apart than the Iris shorts so are more comfy on the busy - sitting to the side rather than over.

I second Meglet on trying DHB from wiggle, as they're mostly cheap to try out. Unfortunately bib shorts/pads are like saddles - you only find out if they work by using them.

I prefer waist shorts to avoid having to strip off for al fresco wees. And Altura Pro Gel for a budget option and Assos (size up!) for money-no-object. It is all about what suits you, though.

I have my first bottle of chain lube, with 1668 miles on the clock. I feel like a real boy.
