Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Hugely grateful for all of you going out there and putting yourselves at risk for the benefit of others. I’m incredibly aware of how lucky I am right now. Continuing to work (from home) and be paid full salary. I don’t have small children to care for. I can now exercise outside as much as I like. I’m having a jolly old time but I feel guilty for it.

On another note I met a woman and her small child on my walk yesterday. The small person was sitting in the middle of the narrow path and when I commented about the difficulty of social distancing her response was ‘I’m not scared of this virus, I think it’s all a hoax’. She didn’t move her child either. I fumed for the remainder of my walk.

MM - I hope all is OK with you Mum.

On what now seems a much less important issue, positive news with my son. He had a redundancy 2nd call where it was more or less confirmed he is redundant from 31/7 (just after 2 years service) unless he accepts a demotion which he isn't willing to do.

Not long after he received word that he has been offered one of the two roles he is in the running for subject to checks that will take c6 weeks. Although he would prefer the other job, he does at least have something new and hopefully the start date is 1st August :-)
