Yumee, ph, WA, TM and other front line workers who are facing tremendous pressure, I happily join with majority of the population in clapping on Thursday evening because I am full of admiration for what you are doing. However, I regard that as a minor gesture. We all have far more important roles to play in breaking the chain of transmission of covid-19. As of tomorrow we have an additional role to play: collaborating with testing, tracing and self- isolating.

As to how this program will be implemented for NHS staff, I do not know. In light of the continuing desperate situations you continue to describe, I fear it might take some time before the Department of Health and Social Services will succeed in getting an effective programme up and running smoothly. At least in principle, it would be possible to include health and social care staff within the programme. As far as I can see, in NZ the test, trace and isolate programme applies to the entire community, but unfortunately the UK is some way behind NZ.

Meanwhile I personally will do everything I reasonably can to collaborate with the programme, and hope that the majority of the population will do likewise. This is likely to be the best thing we can do to make life safer for you and for all of us.

I didn't want to read and not comment but I have nothing to offer those of you working on the front line other than thanks.

Thanks Canute
we can indeed all do our part, whether we are in England, Wales or anywhere in the world by stopping the transmission. For those with situations on the front line who feel they are being inadequately supported I really feel for you. That was the situation to a lesser extent for hubby at the start but not the situation at all now, so we can hope that things will improve for you too, which i know is not much consolation for you today.

The situation leads us all to live in our own little bubbles at the moment and its is difficult for all of us to see each others problems so it is good that we can share our experiences here. Both the good and the bad.

I just want to thank all the NHS workers and share my appreciation. Mother has been in hospital the last week (UTI & Pneumonia) everyone is under so much stress, and also having to deal with concerned relatives on the phone constantly. Having to have conversations over the phone they dont want to have (I had one of them).

Mum came home yesterday but rushed back in last night and is now in a Covid ward 😔
