Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I often think people accessing A&E and calling ambulances unnecessarily should be made to pay a portion of what the treatment costs. So many just bool along without a care.

And yes seeing the cost of general prescriptions may make people think twice if they know how much their 32p paracetamol cost on prescription. Maybe it could be helped by giving an authorisation for individuals to access higher quantities of they have a medical need for them. My dad can have them on prescription but refuses and buys them but he gets though a box every 3-4 days meaning he has to frequent different shops to get enough to keep him going esp at the moment, we all buy our 2 boxes to be sure there is enough.

i do wonder how much the reduction in A&E visits is due to covid and how much is "you know what I don't actually need it"
but agree that there is a lot that should be charged for like cleaning up people so drunk or high they have no idea

LMH, I hadn't actually thought about the incubation period. We can certainly be extra careful for a bit, and we made sure mum had everything she needed before we came away. Hopefully can still do an sd shop n drop for any essentials when we get back and *see* her properly at a later date.

I was bitten by a rattlesnake in the US. Airlift. Hospitalised for three days.

Total bill $32,000.

I later had to have a heart pacemaker fitted as a result of ongoing issues. Under the NHS.

Total bill £0

(The actual cost would have been around £8000)

About every two or three weeks Stef and I talk to her parents (mine are both long gone) about them coming up to see us, or us going to visit them. We then decide to ‘leave it for a bit’. This has been going on since we cancelled a trip to see them in mid to late March. I think it’ll continue for a good while yet and I’d like to believe we all think it’s for the best

Wow FR that puts a lot into perspective glad you were ok both times.

One of our business units is testing full time on site employees every 2 weeks and any employees not back full time £ visitors as they go to site. A few others have implemented temperature testing.

Interestingly a couple of acquaintances (fanclub acquaintances based in southern Ireland) recently commented on facbeook that they had taken their track & trace app off their phone as it was draining the battery at a ridiculously fast speed which meant they were having to charge their phone almost constantly & were getting worried as their phone was becoming extremely hot - I think they were worried the battery was being damaged. Once they deleted the app they said their phone went back to normal and the battery life went back to normal. I know nothing of apps or how that is even possible - merely relating their comments.
