HappyG - assuming you are in Scotland, aren't you still under restricted movements, and only allowed out of your house for specific reasons? Not including staying away overnight? (which in England is specifically excluded, other than for a list of exceptions/reasons.)

Little Miss Happy
I guess it depends on whether the guidelines in Scotland allow staying away from home overnight Happy?

Linds - I think you'll be safe at the dentist but your treatment options may be limited.

My GP practice has just sent a text to say that masks must now be worn when attending an appointment - I've been in twice since lock down began and there was no requirement to do this so why now? The only thing I can think of is that they are going to start offering more face to face appointments.

Why the end of the month V'rap?

I had a routine check up appointment booked at the dentist for next week, it was booked 6 months ago.

They phoned me yesterday to ask if I had any urgent need, if not could I phone again in a month's time to reschedule as they need to see urgent cases first.

I'm just grateful that I still have an NHS dentist as it took me a while to find one and I've only been with this dentist for a year.

Another one on the tooth.... it's more filling than tooth anyway, but it's been niggling just below the pain threshold intermittently for 6 months or so. At my last checkup (the day before lockdown) we decided to leave it again and see how it went. Of course, for the past couple of weeks it's been niggling above the pain threshold instead! Had a couple of sleepless nights, and a couple of days on painkillers. Right now I know it's "there".

I'm happy to go and see a dentist from a personal H&S point of view, as has been mentioned they do infection control anyway. Less happy if dentistry has reverted to the early 1970s with low speed drills and such like. I have a bad feeling the only thing that could be done to my aching tooth to help the pain anyway will be removal, now. There's probably not enough tooth left to put a crown on. :-( . Another implant when this is all over, maybe.

In less urgent and painful news - I have a diary reminder to talk to an optician on July 1st! Hopefully they will be open and up and running. And we'll probably both wear masks.....

LMH - when they announced about face coverings a week or so ago I think they mentioned doctor's surgeries, same time as they said about visits to hospitals etc

Just checked and the dentist is not yet open. And yes, I'm sure the risk is more me to them than the other way around.

Maybe more for the politics thread but this us where the different speeds of easing states to get confusing. I suspect happy g is not allowed to fly but if it was in England he could.

I can almost see Edinburgh zoo and run past it daily. I suspect that can’t open.

It’s really quite hard to work out of the massages in the press apply to us in Scotland or not.

Oh I hear caravan parks are opening again 4th July - a friend has a static and just had a letter from the park. Hoping marinas are doing the same :)

Mr W is champing at the bit to get away in the motorhome so hoping that the small sites (basically a field with a tap) will be opening again too.
