Interesting Tim. I have been honest in saying how much I hate face masks and expect to be caned for it, but from what you say, a little wisp of chiffon akin to a comedy yashmak might comply. Or a nylon stocking?

My opinion remains the same Tim. Fortunately I don't have to use public transport so hopefully won't be needing to wear one.

I'm with you Non-runner. People often recommend breathing through a buff when starting a run on a cold day to help manage asthma but I can't do it.

I wear the surgical ones at work but it will be a buff anywhere else that’s required

Same here LG. Annoys me to see people wasting surgical masks by either wearing incorrectly or wearing in their own car!

hmm, so to protect everyone on the bus I can wear a buff or fabric mask - Mum, who is 80 but not actually told to shield, can go to the garden centre and would wear a fabric mask
But I'm still not allowed to take mum out for the day with a short ride in the car, even if we both wear FFP3 masks.

I know these rules are intended to stop racketeering in masks that should be going to the NHS, but it's frustrating.

Where is the person in the car going though? See so many people mocking that. But you should wash your hands before putting on and before taking off. So if driving somewhere you want to wear it eg the supermarket, best to put it on before you leave and remove it when you get back no?

In theory yes MN, it does look daft though!
I wouldn't drive with one if I wore glasses and not with sunglasses on - too much risk of steaming them up!
