My leisure centre has just confirmed that it will be shutting on Thursday so no more classes or swimming for the next month
I understand why but I will miss it.

I'm.waiting to hear the two half marathons I had lined up in November to announce they have be pulled. Or maybe they will just turn them into raves

I’m pondering whether we are going to be allowed to drive somewhere to go for a run or walk this time around. I guess we won’t know for certain until more detailed guidance comes out.
I’ve been assuming it’s not going to be allowed, but I’ve seen several people saying on social media that they intend to meet up with someone for a run, and I’m sure they don’t all live close enough together to meet without at least one party driving. On the other hand maybe they all do.

I'm going to be interested in seeing how much the traffic reduces. With schools continuing, the school run will still be happening.
New guideline for young mums, able to meet with one other person, together with their under school age children who will not be counted in this case.

Also looking forward to getting another month's extension to my gym membership suspension.

As schools are still open, people can still go to work (unless in the leisure industry) and I doubt there will be much change in the traffic.
Everything will be the same as this week, except you can't get a pint or someone to wait tables for you and we all have to pinky promise not to visit anyone else's house and you can't buy any new clothes or a new TV from a shop.

I’ve not heard the actual press release but from what I can tell it’s pretty much only hospitality & high street that is affected ?? Snd back to not meeting other households anywhere. I’m guessing it will have limited effect on traffic & no doubt lots of grandparents still looking after grandkids for those lucky enough to still have jobs.

Yeah it will be suggested you don't. Unnecessary journey etc. Anything over 10-15 miles for exercise probably seems a bit excessive.
I'm a busy Dad of twins so only talk about exercise at the minute. But when I ran I ran from my door.

Regarding traffic, I’d be surprised if you see much change. From what I’ve seen of the proposed lockdown for England, I believe the measures proposed are slightly less stringent than the current two week fire break lockdown here in Wales, and there doesn’t seem to have been much of a reduction in traffic (well, certainly not where I live - I am quite close to the town centre which may be a factor).

If high street retail shuts down then I can see some reduction in traffic, plus more city centre workers WFH.
I think all the early arguments about driving for exercise etc will not be raised this time around - it's all about the social contact, not where you go.
