HappyG - 2 different factors. Here's vaccination rates statista.com But UK is only doing >18s. About 1/2 of Eu is doing >12s, so will probably move ahead in percentage terms. news.sky.com |

You say "in percentage terms" as if there's another, better, way of looking at it?

Thanks um, makes sense. I think um meant "% of all population" vs. "% of adult population". Whether the distinction (vaccinating under 18s) matters is still a matter of debate, I think? |

I'd say "% of the most likely to transmit it" population, vs. "& of the population most likely to be badly affected by it"! Clearly better to vaccinate as many who can be vaccinated to squash the prevalence in the community. |

Been to Newcastle today with a friend, got the train and was very impressed that high majority had masks on including conductor. Walking around the shops again very few without masks staff & customers alike. Only place I noticed people not in masks was staff in the bar we went for lunch. Overall felt safe being out and about and really enjoyed doing something that almost was normal and we chatted non stop. Spent a fortune mind! |

Not sure how Scottish hospitality track and trace works either. Today, had morning coffee and cake at a busy local cafe. Lots of customers indoors. Just me outdoors. All customers have contact details. So what happens if one of the indoor customers tests positive and names the cafe. Do I get a call? |

I see infections are up. There are rumblings about symptomatic people not turning up for testing and the REACT study delayed. Not over. By quite a stretch. 91 died yesterday. |

Never been contacted so not sure how it works Tim. I know they keep details for 2 weeks and they cannot use your details for marketing purposes. We go to our local once a week and fill in the form every time. |

OS, up to yesterday infection numbers were down, I thought? Where are you seeing increased numbers? The hospitalisations and deaths are still up, but I thought infections were down?
