I've been sent the details of the anti-viral trial so I'm going to apply and see if they accept me. It would be nice to be able to do my bit to help with the response :-)

Bob!
Infections are still down week on week.
Yesterday's number was higher than the previous day, but everybody does the week on week comparisons, don't they?

It's odd - with supposed number of infections and 'pingdemic', I'm not seeing swathes of last minute holiday home availabilty. Could it be people aren't isolating or aren't risking things (infection or ping) before holidays?

Anecdotally it would seem there's a lot of that going on um. There's no legal obligation to self isolate if pinged and no one checking so it would be easy to convince yourself that despite what the app thinks you're sure you couldn't have been exposed and you have no symptoms so why would you get a test and after all it's nearly the 16th August so what's the point in doing it now?

I don't think that I could just stay in my house and garden for ten days lol. I would have to sneak out a couple of times a day for a walk somewhere out-of-the-way.

But likelihood of me being called by 'test and protect' is small.

Ness
I quarantined for ten days in January after Mr Ness and I had our holiday in Gran Canaria. It wasn’t too bad with our turbo trainer and home gym to keep up with some exercise. Wouldn’t want to do it again mind you. No holiday abroad booked until we are sure we don’t have to quarantine on return.

This is my 2nd time self-isolating. First time I did 9 days, this time it will be 10. It's tough not going out apart from the garden but I'll manage it. Probably helps that I feel under the weather so don't have any energy to burn off!

My self-isolating neighbour has a two year old daughter, who definitely went out today but I guess it could have been with a friend.

I could easily go for a two-hour walk and be at no risk of close contact with anyone.
