Is anyone else working today? I WFH and the atmosphere isn’t quite the same. I have Christmas music playing on my Alexa to try and irritate me as it would do in an office but it’s not working

Unexpectedly not working, we were due to but the owner didn't realise until last week that Christmas Eve was a Monday, and so decided we wouldn't open!

Well it's nice to dip back in to the Christmas Day Thread before the actual day. For us the potential stress comes early with the arrival of my parents yesterday, who are then with us for over a week.
For me this is OK and it's just part of them making up for lost time when they lived out of the country. The kids like having them around, my wife less so. So, if there's stress on other people's part it is up to me to help manage it for them.
Like last night - I had an invite to a running friend's cheese and wine do, so I went with my wife (a huge cheese fan ) and left instructions with the kids to keep the old folks entertained. That seemed to work pretty well and I managed to get runners to talk about other stuff that my wife could get involved with. For my parents, they seemed happy enough and after all, it's the grand kids that my folks really want to see. I'm at work today, so I might try and fit in a lunchtime run just for myself.

I'm also working from home for a few hours at least. Belgian labour laws are weird so you don't have any holiday entitlement until you've worked in the country for a full 12 months.

I'm trying to figure out what to have tomorrow...as we don't do turkey or meat any more. Veggie burgers possibly or even just fish. Must decide, though I have plenty in the freezer so either is an option!
