Really hope travel can happen ITG
Been chatting to my brother this morning I really feel it not having parents around on Xmas Day I stress so much that what if it’s the last year we can. I will do a meal for them all in January.
I do miss the days when I was a kid Christmas was such a huge thing busy & chaotic. Life is busy now but not a fun busy. I am feeling a little bit Bleurgh about it all tbh.
Hope whatever you all do you have a good day with those you’re with.
Covid is definitely still a concern my brother in law and family weren’t due to arrive at in-laws until Thursday night but they arrived Sunday night as her sister tested positive Sunday morning.

We've had a bit of a sickness crisis at somewhere that I work at on the casual staff the last couple of weeks so I have been called in pretty much every day last week and this, as well as having been ill myself on and off. So practically no presents bought yet and no real food shopping done as yet. I am hoping that I can get all I need to see us through with food (we are having Christmas lunch at a family member's) from the village shop, local veg stalls etc without having to brave a big supermarket any time between now and the 27th!

Raptors Claws are coming to town
VP is coming to us and we're going to the ancestors on Christmas Day. Possibly via a parkrun (I've identified a candidate).

WE will be with OH's family for the first time. We have an AirBnB for the six of us so I think it will be fine. I have almost no presents but we're not taking them with us so don't need them until 7th when we do 'our' Christmas with my Mum.

Zero presents here yet. I will probably buy some sweets / chocolate for my family who we’ll see on Boxing Day. We have my MIL coming on Christmas Day, which will be nice. I used to really enjoy big family Christmases as a kid, but I’m quite ok with a smaller, quieter day these days.

I'm off to my sister's as usual (or at least we stay in the local Travelodge but spend most of the time and eat most meals at her house). Panto on christmas eve, food coma and indoor fireworks on Christmas day. This year there are 14 of us, 3 of whom I've never met before (her new bloke's family - I've only actually met him once) but I'm sure it will be fine. My main remaining job is to cook a ham for sandwiches etc before we set off. It used to be my grandmother's job and it's my first year taking over that responsibility! Presents are bought and mainly wrapped, and I've acquired the alcohol I agreed to take.

D2lazy to think of a Christmas name
I really miss the Christmases when the kids were little, it was a really stressful time in our lives but we made the most of the time together.
I miss tiptoeing in to leave presents, once they set a trap for Father Christmas with string and a bell, that took some explaining! I miss sitting on their beds at stupid o'clock watching them open presents. We didn't have any money to spare really and never had a turkey for years but made do with one of those preformed "turkey" joints, yuk but we still made it a special meal.
We used to play games and laugh and laugh, I miss that. I will be seeing them all though as I'm invited to visit but its not the same as having the family here.

We will be at my parents’ on christmas day for dinner. We generally host here, but my sister and her partner are refusing to come to our house for a reason too tedious to repeat, but basically she is a spoilt controlling horror. My sister in law and nephew are coming to stay with us. I’m on call over Christmas so anything could happen.
To make things uncertain. there is a huge storm forecast for the end of the week - snow and high winds, so my sister in law and nephew might not get here which would be a shame, and if we lose power we have also have no water or heating….
