We were going to my sisters, she text this morning to say my nephew has hand, foot and mouth. Plans will likely change now.

Happy to be on my own. Spending time with my dad is the alternative and it’s not that appealing.

Supposed to be going to my son's for Christmas day, and looking forward to meeting his new gf at last, but now he's unwell and it might possibly be covid, so plans looking a bit questionable tbh ...

Christmas plans are always a bit fluid....
I find it so much easier and less stressy to not have any real expectations of people, just to accept whatever happens and go with the flow!
Doesn't mean I don't care, but I do try not to obsess over what isn't right.

I was on my own the last couple of years because of Covid. Before that, I'd go on a Christmas avoidance trip/holiday to somewhere warm, sunny and non-christian. Now off to my sister for the first time in ohhhhh, must be 20 years? We both feel the pinch so she is only going skiing for one week, while I spend xmas there and then dogsit while they are away. She has a sauna 😎
