Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

weather getting dryer on the BBC and it says a gentle breeze
Ran this morning in the dark (head torch on!) and wet (soggy feet from puddles) and can confirm that I will be wearing contacts sunday as today I steamed up so couldn't really see where I was going! haha

Marathon number 8 or 9 for me depending on if you count a virtual London marathon. Hoping for sub 4:30 🤞🏼

I’m hoping for sub-4. Would be a considerable pb but training has been much better than on 3 previous attempts. Unless we get a sudden heatwave I’ll be in a black Fetch tee since I don’t have a Fetch vest. Don’t have my number to hand but will post it later. Fingers crossed for not windy. My least favourite weather I think (except hail!)

Think the breeze should feel nice on the way out, and you might get some shelter on the way back into Chester, certainly for the first section out of Holt. It's quite open though from just after Aldford so I'd probably not anticipate any shelter there; forwarned is forearmed etc etc!

Run well everyone, hope best laid plans work out for you all! Looks like I'll be down in London spectating instead on Sunday otherwise I'd have headed out to give you all a cheer!

just seen that the metric is 26.6Km rather than 26.2km
I am assuming that this is due to the route
need to run a bit faster now! LOL

After seeing you'd mentioned this on FB, I checked the distance when I ran it in 2017. It was slightly longer than 26.2km then. Not 26.6 though, about 26.4ish. Perhaps the change might be cos it doesn't finish on the racecourse? My tired legs didn't like that at all from what I recall. The rest of the route was lovely though.

haha
I hadn't looked TBH I just assumed 26.2
But as it's an out and back I guess the turnabout is in the wrong place for 26.2

I measured the Metric a bit short last year. 16.04 miles, I think. I was doing sums and suddenly the finish line was under my feet.

How far should the metric be in miles?
