You have to drink port or sherry with it. (Well, you don’t HAVE to, but . . .) Whenever I was involved with equestrian endeavour (mostly with Border Reivers, common riding or riding the bounds), it was invariably accompanied by stirrup cups and hip flasks. Also the reason my hip flask has a captive lid.
