Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thank you. It was in the 1990s and before online shopping :)

Not sure if you can read that. My scribble tells me it's from the Be-ro book and I have at least two copies of that if not three.

No wonder you liked my parkin, Linds - that's very like what I do now. I just modern it up a bit using part rye flour. H&B usually have all oatmeal grades, Sains sometimes. Mornflake is a reliable, stoneground brand.

Mum always insisted the right size of tin was vital. Don't know if it's the way he has photographed (from above I think) but OS' version looks too shallow to me.

I confess that when I needed oatmeal recently, I bought it from Amazon. I looked at Tesco etc online and no one seemed to sell it.

I got the pinhead oatmeal from a farm shop on the way down from the lake district......I'll have to try black treacle next time.
